I started this journey, almost 5 years ago. I truly wanted to get in shape and be there for my kids, not on the sidelines. Unfortunately, life and kids and my willpower was not quite where it needed to be so I fluctuated between 325 and 290, never really getting where I needed to be.
This year was the year I was going to make the change once and for all. I started out in January with the desire to make it happen and in February, I started to make the change. I got introduced to Wegovy by my daughter. I decided to give it a try to see if it would help me with the changes I needed to make and it did. I stayed at the lowest dose, almost micro-dosing in order to help me get going. I did that for 4 months and was able to switch to a very keto-based diet and get through my cravings and desires for carbs.
Between February and May, My weight dropped off drastically, I went from 325 to 260 and had never felt better, in my life. Now during this time, I did follow a “mostly” strict keto diet. I did occasionally fall off the wagon, but I did it in moderation, not in a severe style. What this means is, if I gave in and had ice cream, I would have a small scoop and just enjoy it rather than a large couple scoops or even a full pint to myself like I might of in the past. I found I could actually enjoy the treat, even in small amounts whereas, in the past, I would “enjoy it” or thought I was, but I was just eating for the taste of the sugars and always needed more and more.

One of my favorite finds of all time is using LMNT, this has been such a game-changer for me. I didn’t realize how many of my issues were from dehydration. You don’t think you’re dehydrated, as I knew I didn’t need to drink 8 cups of water every day, that’s a misnomer that people have been led to believe is true, because the food you eat has water/fluid in it too, but my issue was I was eating so many carbs, I was flushing my nutrients I needed such as salt, magnesium, and potassium. I wasn’t getting enough of those so the fluids I was getting, wasn’t doing me much good. LMNT gives me the hydration to go with the fluids and their sparkling version satisfies my love of carbonated drinks without all the bad stuff in most drinks. I drink at least 1, sometimes 2 of these a day (no you really can’t overdo the salt when it’s the right salt, and their website will explain how the science works).
Next week I will be adding information about my current diet and current progress.
